What Linea is

ConsenSys created Linea, a type 2 zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM). The next generation of Ethereum developers can create and deploy any smart contract using any tool to create Apps as if they were doing so on Ethereum itself since it replicates the Ethereum environment as a rollup.

This allows users to benefit from Ethereum's security guarantees while paying less for transactions. Keep checking back for more information even though the network is still in beta and it's too early to talk about issuing a token.

"ConsenSys' Beta zkEVM Public Testnet, Linea" Step-by-Step Instructions

By including the Linea Testnet network to your Metamask, configure your wallet. As an alternative, you can manually add the network by doing the following. Please uninstall that network and use Linea in its place if you had previously configured ConsenSys zkEVM Testnet with your specific Infura RPC URL.

Use the Goerli Faucet to obtain some ETH Goerli tokens. A list of faucets for the Goerli network is available online.

With your MetaMask wallet, choose the Goerli network, and then use the Hop Exchange Bridge to bridge some ETH Goerli tokens from Goerli L1 to Linea L2. The duration of the bridging procedure is up to five minutes. The Linea block explorer allows you to keep track of the status of your funds.

Now, transfer money between Linea network accounts using your MetaMask wallet.

Then, in your MetaMask wallet, choose the Linea network. Exchange tokens and add liquidity using the Linea Uniswap V3 App Fork.
